RIC Novo mesto is an adult education organisation in Slovenia, with more than 60 years of experience. In 2019, it celebrated 60 years of continuous operation, reflecting strong integration in the local environment and a constant readiness to embrace new challenges. Founded by the Municipality of Novo mesto, the institution has developed from a provider of formal education programmes into a recognised andragogical centre with a wide range of educational and development activities.
RIC Novo mesto provides adults with opportunities to obtain formal education (from primary to secondary level and higher online education) as well as a variety of non-formal vocational, language, computer, and general education courses. Through its counselling centre and other support activities, it offers guidance, learning support, and opportunities to improve quality of life.
As a public institution, RIC Novo mesto works closely with a wide network of local, regional, and national partners, including municipalities, ministries, regional development agencies, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Chamber of Crafts, other adult education organisations, primary and secondary schools, higher education institutions and faculties, NGOs, and enterprises. Through its project activities, it also cooperates with an extensive network of international partners. Since 2015, RIC Novo mesto has been a member of ZiSS – the Association of Educational and Advisory Centres of Slovenia.
The organisation carefully plans and continuously improves opportunities for adult learning and education, introduces modern pedagogical approaches, strengthens the professional competences of its lecturers, and ensures a supportive and pleasant learning environment. It strives for high quality in all areas of its work. The certificates, quality labels, and other recognitions it has obtained confirm that it has achieved important objectives and continues to develop in the right direction. RIC Novo mesto holds the ISO 9001:2008 (ISO 9001:2015) certification, an internationally recognised quality management standard issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Within the Guidance Centre Novo Mesto, operating under the supervision of the Slovenian Institute for Adult Education, it has developed a quality system framework for quality assessment and quality development in Adult Education Guidance Centres.
European Parents Association
EPA was founded as NGO in 1985 in Milan to promote collaboration between schools, parents’ associations and other educational communities through Europe. Through the years EPA has become an umbrella association for national and regional parents’ associations and federations of parents’ associations in Europe which together represent more than 150 million parents.
Main objectives are:
-to promote and advocate for the active involvement of parents as primary educators at all stages of the education of their children,
-to support parents’ associations and individual parents for stakeholder involvement in different European countries by offering opportunities for training, cooperation and exchanging information,
-to support the highest possible quality of education for all children in Europe especially by active involvement in EU-level policy development and assessment to foster exchange among our members.
Centre of Active Citizens for Sustainable Development
CitizensACT is a newly established non-for-profit organization based in Nicosia, Cyprus. The aim of this NGO is to help vulnerable entities, promoting active citizenship among all citizens regardless of their age, gender, colour, religion, ethnicity, language or abilities.CitizensACT is an organization that is mainly consisted of volunteers who share a common thing; the need to give and help vulnerable people and anyone in need, as well as the environment every one of us lives in. This NGO promotes and encourages civic engagement, participation, access, and social inclusion with the aim of social change and innovation.
Udruga roditelja "Korak po korak"
PASBS is a non-profit organization which advocates development of a society oriented to the best interests of children and youth as well as protection and respect of the rights and interests of children, youth and families. It encourages development of democracy and active citizenship where parents, children and youth participate in creating policies which concern them. It cooperates with preschool, school and other institutions responsible for children and families; it represents the interests of children, youth and families before authorities; it organizes seminars and public events to raise awareness of the necessity of protection of children and youth rights. It supports educational politics which provide equal opportunities and access to free compulsory education for all children, it encourages voluntarism and participation of parents in matters of great importance for their children.
Activities of the PASBS for the past 25 years have been directed to development of capacities of local communities and their institutions for promotion and protection of the rights of the children. In that period PA Step by step gained a lot of experience in working with children, parents, kindergarten and school staff, organizations of civil society and representatives of local and regional units.
Learn to innovate Ι.Κ.Ε
Learn2Innovate is a Lifelong learning center offering training courses to professionals, teachers, adult educators, social workers, and youth leaders at both national and European level.
We organise and carry out seminars for business executives, educators, and employees; Training programmes, aimed at teachers and staff of educational organisations; e-learning or blended learning programmes, relating to vocational subjects or the acquisition of basic skills.
The course catalogue includes 30 different training courses (www.trainingcentre.gr). Furthermore, the Centre can develop and deliver tailored training courses, addressing the needs of schools, organisations and companies.
In all our training courses, we use the principles of transformative adult education, with hands-on activities and examples from the experience and daily work of the participants, incorporating the use of digital tools when this promotes the learning experience.
Learn2Innovate possesses expertise in e-learning, encompassing course design, the production of learning materials, and the creation of digital content such as videos, animations, and professional graphic design.
Learn2Innovate in its courses actively promotes gender equality, ensuring inclusive participation and equal opportunities for all staff members.
Supplementary, it supports companies and training providers with training consulting services.
Apart from training services, it specialises in providing quality assurance, and digital solutions for clients mostly in the private sector but also for municipalities and public organisations
A & A Emphasys Interactive Solutions Ltd
‘Emphasys Centre’ was established in 1998 and is operating as a highly successful ‘Education, ICT Training (VET), Research and Development Centre, approved by the Cyprus Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth and Sport. It was set up with the vision to offer high quality LLL opportunities and digital solutions targeted to the needs of learners of all ages and abilities in order to upgrade their lives, ensure inclusion, access and participation in the digitalized society and the labour market. It is committed to promote the digital transformation and the green transition for a sustainable future. It is a member of the EU Digital Learning Network (DLEARN) and CONNECT–INTERNATIONAL networks.
Emphasys is comprised of four main departments:
- ICT Training Department which offers a wide range of professional development courses, as well as upskilling courses for all learners related to the integration of emerging technologies in Education and VET Training, sustainable development and social innovation, entrepreneurship education and social inclusion. The courses are offered both at the national and EU level through the Erasmus+ KA1 Learning Mobility website (https://erasmuscoursescyprus.com/). A custom-made platform (https://erasmuscoursescyprus.com/support-platform/) is developed offering to all participants access to additional material, resources, assessment tools, games, apps etc. relevant to the course of their choice. Emphasys is fully equipped with modern facilities and top of the range technology such as interactive boards, 75 inches’ flat screen TVs, gaming laptops, tablets, VR equipment (Oculus Rift S), Craftbot+ 3D Printers, a selection of robots (e.g., Edison, Lego Boost, Lego WeDo Lego Mindstorm, Arduino, Engino) etc. The STEAM UNIT offers project-driven related courses combining coding and robotics, 3D modelling and printing, Video/ Game design using, drones-technology and Artificial Intelligence. Emphasys has also a PROFESSIONAL RECORDING STUDIO for podcasts, webinars and web radio activities, as well as for digital marketing and video editing. The studio is fully equipped with all high tech resources and tools.
- Research Department which cooperates with an extensive network of partners across Europe for the preparation, implementation, management and coordination of research-based projects under a number of EU programmes such as the Erasmus+, AMIF, AAL, CERV, Horizon Europe. Its strong quality standards have let several of its project to be awarded as a GOOD PRACTICE PROJECTS by the EC such as the CODE@YOUTH and V-UPGRATES.
- Software Development Department which is involved in the development, pilot-testing and evaluation of various elearning tools, serious games, platforms, websites, applications and assessment portals etc. based on the needs of the various project being implemented. It has expertise in the design of games using VR, AR and AI functionalities. The VR Games are used for both learning, training and assessment purposes.
- Education Department which offers validated and certified IT courses accredited by national and EU examination boards such as the Cyprus Computer Society (ECDL – EQF Level 3-4), the national IT exams and the Cambridge University (GCE A Level Computer Science) for entering HEIs Emphasys offers also career guidance and counselling services to young people.
