The NextGen Parenting project addresses key challenges in Europe related to adult learning, digitalization and gender equality. Many parents face barriers such as lack of time, financial pressure and limited access to flexible learning, leaving them unprepared for the rapidly changing digital world their children grow up in. At the same time, online gender-based violence is increasing, with children and adolescents frequently exposed to cyberbullying, hate speech, grooming and sexist content; issues many parents do not feel confident discussing or managing.

Adult educators also need updated tools, gender-sensitive approaches and digital resources that are specifically designed for working with parents, as well as stronger opportunities for cooperation and capacity building.

To meet these needs, NextGen Parenting provides flexible training, high-quality digital and gender literacy resources and an AI-powered learning portal that makes upskilling accessible and practical. By strengthening parents’ competences and supporting educators, the project aims to reduce online risks, close digital and generational gaps and promote safer, more respectful and inclusive environments for families across Europe.
